  • 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, 24 hours per week
  • $475 per week

Players are expected to bring or buy their own lunch, extra snacks, and water.

Summer Skills Sessions 2024

Session 1 – June 24-June 27 All Skills Beginners
Ages 7 – 14, girls and boys

Want to learn the fundamentals of serving, passing, setting, attacking and overall game dynamics? With MGA's higher level of training, positive, specific feedback coupled with high level coaching to teach technical skills- you will see improvement every day. The atmosphere is focused but fun!


Session 2 – July 8-July 11 All Skills Intermediate
Ages 14 – 18, girls and boys

For those, who are looking to improve their  serving, passing, setting, attacking skills. MGA's higher level of training, positive, specific feedback coupled with high level coaching to teach technical skills- you will see improvement every day. The atmosphere is focused but fun!


Session 3 – July 15-July 18 High Academic Week
Ages 14 – 18, girls and boys
Each day we have a different High academic college coach running the day.

Session 4 - July 22 - July 25, Defenders/Liberos and Out of System Academy
Ages 12 – 18, girls and boys

Real volleyball is chaotic and in this week you will learn how to read, anticipate and be an effective defender in and out of system. You will practice serve receive, covering the block, back row attacks, general defense IQ.


Session 5 - July 29- Aug 1, Attackers & Serving School

Ages 12-18
We will have three levels of players, Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Regardless of level, you will learn and practice your approach, arm swing, transitions and most of all how to be effective at scoring: power plus precision to win.

Learn the all important skill of serving: work on placement, speed and consistency.


Session 6- Aug 5 - Aug 8, Setters & Attackers School

Ages 12-18

Setters will learn skills taught in the USA Women's Olympic gym: ball control, footwork, transitioning and importantly leadership, strategy (reading the court, knowing who to set, how and when), in system and out of system efficiency.

Attackers will work with the setters on all types of sets: front, back, slides, huts, gos, etc.


Session 7- Aug 12 - Aug 15, Pre-tryout Boot Camp & Get Set
8th – 12th grade Girls

Over 170 participants last year got ready for their HS tryouts! We prepare you through drills, game like drills, competitive play and focused, specific feedback on what you need to work on. You will see improvement every day and learn exactly what coaches are looking for at tryouts.

GET SET MIDDLE SCHOOL CLINIC
  • Dedicated to athletes of middle school age who want to learn how to play volleyball. Players will be grouped with players from their own town and they will be given instruction in all positions and skills that will allow them to learn the game. Qualified Coaches will teach mechanics and technique that is based on motor learning and will allow athletes to learn faster. Every day the players will get both blocked training of a skill and then be taught Spike Ball so they can reinforce the technique in game-like situations. The first 3 days, players will be taught how to Forearm pass, Attack, Serve, and Set. The game of Spikeball will reinforce the spiking needed in the game.
  • On day four, we will put it all together and players will learn how to play 6v6, this will prepare them for normal competition

GET SET HS TEAM CLINIC

We bring varsity players from the same team together for four nights to prepare them for their fall season try-outs in a friendly and fun but competitive atmosphere where skills can be refined, learned and maintained. All players will be under the direct supervision of experienced and well-rounded coaches from the area. Every night will consist of team building, skills and drills as well as break out sessions that are skill specific. Every night will end with competitive play against other teams. Back again this summer, will be the middle school component which is designed to introduce, teach and enhance skills of the younger player to build confidence and a passion for the game. This is open to all middle school-aged players, coming as a team is encouraged but not mandatory.
